Conspiracy of Silence…..Trump, Wyndham,Ritz Carlton are long gone

Yes, with no media coverage or communication from Capcana ownership, these 5 star blue chip names associated with the Capcana development are long gone.  These name brands were instrumental in the marketing of Capcana and decision making by owners in purchasing properties.

Wyndham was planned as the managing agent for the property rentals in Green Village.  The Trump name was used to sell multimillion dollar lots on the Farrillon.  Ritz Carlton was suppose to build a first class hotel and casino on the beach near Secrets Sanctuary.  Were these big players driven off by the economy (as Capcana management would like you to believe)?  Or were they driven off by the mismanagements and misdealings of Capcana management and ownership?

These corporations allowed their names to be used as selling points.  How and if any consequences did they suffer by leaving?   One thing that is true –  the investments made by the property owners and bond holders continue to suffer.  How much of the actual Capcana owners personal resources were used to fund the Capcana development, meanwhile they pocketed millions of dollars in profits, and allowed the development to disintegrate.

    Are you taking legal action?

I have talked to one attorney who is already in the process of suing Capcana. Like you his fees were very high with no guarantees. Even if we do win it will take years. At a point in time soon I will be seeking an attorney to secure my claims. Does it make sense to you that several owners secure a lawyer under one suit to collect moneys for all?

We were last in Cap Cana March 2011 & met with the head of construction at that time. A guard was posted at Green Village so we were not even allowed to visit our own property without a salesperson with us. Of course, it was a disaster. There was one completed villa down the road from ours. Apparently, they sued & the work was completed, but are in the middle of crap! There were some completed units by the clubhouse, but I believe only one was occupied. The pool & clubhouse were complete and beautiful, even furnished. So, once again we got our hopes up. We then met with the head of construction, who indicated they were completing Punta Palmera first & then would be returning to finished Green Village late 2011. We have had several conversations with Cap Cana’s head of finance, & he offered us a trade for a useless piece of property in Las Iguanas or an apt at Punta Palmera … another unfinished project.
We are definitely interested in joining with other owners. Please keep us advised.

Sorry to hear you are one of Capcana’s victims like my wife and I. I regret not responding to your comment sooner, but this is something I would at times like to forget and move on (just like you) but I can’t. The good news is that we have been contacted by 3 or more owners in the same situation. There is strenght in numbers to either push for a resolutions with Capcana or jointly hire a lawyer (probably need to do both). The lawyer I initially met with indicated it would cost significant money to sue Capcana (more than I want to spend individually). But I am also prepared to move forward with a group to resolve this matter once and for all.
Have you ever contacted Stewart Title in regards to the Capcana fiasco?
